Survey findings
Participatory action research conducted across 57 European universities highlights a structural misalignment between academic needs and existing digital tools:
- Teaching Staff: Faculty note that study disruptions stem primarily from personal and social transitions rather than academic difficulty, while current university portals function merely as static notice boards instead of providing proactive guidance.
- Students: Learners manage their goals independently and seek more efficient study habits, yet rarely utilize institutional tutoring because services are poorly signposted and hard to locate online.
- Tutors: Guidance professionals face rigid digital platforms that fail to support flexible, personalized interactions or streamline ongoing student support.
The infographic below illustrates these core challenges, highlighting the necessity for an adaptive, human-centered tutoring ecosystem designed to assist educators and meet learners where they study.
